Almost everyone in Maycomb is going to the courthouse to watch a trial. All I know about it is that Atticus is defending a black man. I do not yet know the charges. Scout, Jem, and Dill have made there way to the courthouse. It was so packed that Scout got separated from her brother and friend. She was walking to the stairwell where she knew Jem would find her, when she heard a group of men talking about her father and that he was defending a black man, ( though they didn't use as kind language ) and that he was out if his right mind to be defending a .... again. Not the nicest name. I wonder what's going on??? Why is this particular case so exciting? Is it because... OH!!! Tom Robinson, the man who was in the cell, is probably the man Atticus is defending!!! OHHH!!! Every things making sense now!!!
The downstairs seats were all full and there is no more standing space because They spent the precious time they coudve used getting standing space, looking for Scout. So Reverend Sykes, who is one of the few men not racist and I mean not racist at ALL, invited them to the top balcony, for black people. This must be some trial.

Don't You Dare!

Atticus, the father, is sitting on a chair outside the jail. All of sudden these strange men come and surround him. Demanding to be let inside the jail cell. Or in Scout's words, the "one room gothic joke of a jail." All those men ganging up on Atticus. Lucky Scout was there with Jem and Dill. If Scout hadn't run to her father, he might of been beaten to a pulp by those circle of men trying to get to whatever or whoever is in that jail cell! I think that it's a person that there looking for. That he/she is in the jail and these men know so. It might be one of Atticus's clients!!!!!!!!! Oh!!!!! He/she probably testified against one of the people trying to hurt Atticus!!!!! Because he's a lawyer it would make sense!!!! No WONDER they want the person inside the cell!!!!!
Ok. I'm understanding now. I'm gonna read on a see if my prediction come's true. :D

To Kill A Mockingbird. No,it's not about killing birds.

To kill a mocking bird. A book written in over 45 different languages. That's what I call one popular book! Scout, otherwise known as Jean-Louise Finch; is the main character. She has a brother named Jem, or at least nick named Jem, a father named Atticus, who's a lawyer. Every summer a boy named Dill comes to the house across the way. Dill and Scout are " engaged" even though Dills only nine and Scout is eight. There Aunt Alexandra came to live with them for however long she wants to. Scout and Jem are not her biggest fans.
